چکیده

We consider a system of superconducting grains embedded in a normal metal. At zero temperature this system exhibits a quantum superconductor-normal metal phase transition. This transition can take place at arbitrary large con-ductance of the normal metal.

Theory of quantum metal to superconductor transitions in highly conducting systems

We derive the theory of the quantum (zero temperature) superconductor to metal transition in disordered materials when the resistance of the normal metal near criticality is small compared to the quantum of resistivity. This can occur most readily in situations in which “Anderson’s theorem” does not apply. We explicitly study the transition in superconductor-metal composites, in an swave superc...

Role of magnetic scattering in 0-π transitions in a superconductor/ferromagnetic metal/superconductor junction

We study the influence of magnetic scattering on the Josephson critical current, Ic, in a superconductor/ferromagnetic metal/superconductor (SFS) junction by a tunneling Hamiltonian approach. An analytical formula of Ic is given in the fourth order perturbation theory as regards the tunneling matrix element. The Ic exhibits the damped oscillatory dependence on the thickness of the ferromagnetic...

Dynamical conductivity at the dirty superconductor-metal quantum phase transition.

We study the transport properties of ultrathin disordered nanowires in the neighborhood of the superconductor-metal quantum phase transition. To this end we combine numerical calculations with analytical strong-disorder renormalization group results. The quantum critical conductivity at zero temperature diverges logarithmically as a function of frequency. In the metallic phase, it obeys activat...

We study electric, thermal, and thermoelectric conductivities in the vicinity of a z = 2 superconductor-diffusive metal transition in two dimensions, both in the high and low frequency limits. We find violation of the Wiedemann-Franz law and a dc thermoelectric conductivity α that does not vanish at low temperatures, in contrast to Fermi liquids. We introduce a Langevin equation formalism to st...

Quantum superconductor-metal transition in a proximity array.

A theory of the zero-temperature superconductor-metal transition is developed for an array of superconductive islands (of size d) coupled via a disordered two-dimensional conductor with the dimensionless conductance g = Planck's over 2 pi/e(2)R(square)>>1. At T = 0 the macroscopically superconductive state of the array with lattice spacing b>>d is destroyed at g<g(c) approximately 0.1ln(2)(b/d)...
